Dr. Hairston to run her publication full-time. In 1995, that newsletter has grown and evolved into Gospel Today, it is now an internationally distributed magazine reaching over 250,000 people. She has also expanded the company to include several ancillary products. Hairston is recognized as a leader in her field and has built a positive rapport with many other ministries and industry leaders.
Along the way, Dr. Hairston has become a major force in the international Gospel community. For 10 years, she was the
on-air host of the Gospel Today TV Show (which aired weekly via DirecTV); she also hosted a nationally-syndicated news and entertainment segment on radio, entitled, “The Gospel Today Update.” Dr. Hairston has interviewed almost everyone who is apart of Gospel music and ministry; she has also served as host of two Gospel celebrations at the White House.
In 1996, Dr. Teresa Hairston founded The Gospel Heritage Foundation, a non-profit organization that hosts the nation’s #1 “Praise & Worship Conference.” In 2005, Dr. Hairston launched her own record label, Gospel Today Entertainment which released two nationally-acclaimed CD projects. Dr. Hairston is a minister of the Gospel, with an earned Doctor of Ministry degree. In 2010, she was ordained as an elder by Bishop Liston Page, Sr.
Dr. Hairston motto is: “When God gives you a vision, He’ll make the provision!” Her favorite scripture is Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good, to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” In 2010, she published her first book, “How to Pursue Your Purpose” in which she shares biblical principles that help readers unlock and actualize their own dreams.

Dr. Teresa Hairston is the founder of Gospel Today Magazine, Gospel Industry Today and Gospel Heritage Foundation. In 1989, Dr. Hairston was a divorced mother of three small children with a $300 seed to invest in her dream of becoming a publisher. She started a four-page newsletter named Gospel SCORE that was distributed to about 500 Gospel industry insiders. The first issue which focused on Gospel Music, did not look any better than a Sunday morning church bulletin.
